Five Reasons Lovers Of The Rain Make Better Lovers

Rainy Days Are Made For Lovers

Do you rejoice when raindrops start to fall? Does a rainy-day forecast conjure delightful images of curling up in a cozy blanket with a hot beverage and a good book? If yes, then you are a part of a special tribe of people known as pluviophiles aka are people who love the rain. If you’re a pluviophile, not only are you joyful when it rains, it is likely that you are a more pleasant person the rest of the time too. Five notes on why pluviophiles are better lovers:

  1. Sensual

People who love rain bask in their experiences. They can describe the rain in vivid detail, from the mesmerizing pitter-patter sound, to the hypnotic way each drop magnifies and changes the scenery on the on the other side of the window pane. Pluviophiles appreciate the scent of a fresh storm and the delicious feel of water dripping down their skin. Rain lovers embrace the living world as they gaze to the heavens with outstretched arms and welcome droplets to dance on their tongue.

  1. Present

Happiness researcher, Dr. Matt Killingsworth, used a smartphone app called “Track Your Happiness” to have people report their level of happiness during specific activities in real time. He found that there is a direct link between happiness and being completely present in whatever one is doing. What better way to get lost in the moment than playfully splashing through puddles?

  1. Confident

An adult that runs around like a four-year-old in the rain probably doesn’t care much about what others think. People who love the rain don’t run with the herd. They are the cool kids. Even if a pluviophile’s hair gets wet and their makeup runs, they don’t care. They still look good.

  1. Resilient

Pluviophiles understand very well that it takes a little rain to make the flowers grow. When things get a little rough in life, these are the people who will remind you that “this too shall pass.” In fact, they know that challenges are necessary to seize the best opportunities. You don’t get rainbows unless you also have rain.

  1. Emotive

The sky weeps tears of life and those tears wash away the dust of yesterday and nourish tomorrow.  Just as the rain brings a clean scent and new life, rain lovers also appreciate the cleansing renewal of a good cry. A pluviophile is not afraid of expressing emotion. Be it by snuggling on the couch or in bed while watching a good tearjerker or expressing their love in the throes of passion.

Have a happy rainy day. Share your love of the rain and be sure to Get Your Groove On.
