In The Groove dance routines fall into five difficulties: Novice, Easy, Medium, Hard, and Expert. The Novice difficulty is for people just trying out dance games for the first time, while the Easy, Medium, and Hard difficulties are for those who are familiar with the genre. The Expert difficulty is for gamers who are well-versed in dance games; it provides a new challenge for even the best players out there.
Many of the musicians featured in the In The Groove series have websites where you can find out more about their music and even purchase their albums. Try searching on Google (http://www.google.com) for the name of the artist.

No. In The Groove is not designed to accept new song or graphic data. The only data read is player stats, options, and Edits for songs that are already on the In The Groove machine.
Available Edits will show up at the bottom of the difficulty list on the Music Selection screen. Edit steps appear in white text, and show the name of the edit in place of a difficulty name. On the Music Selection screen, switch to your Edit by pressing Down, Down on the dance pad several times.
You don't need to do anything. The game will automatically create all the files and folders it needs.
See our online Music Submission form.
Unfortunately, Safari won't load XML stylesheets. Stats.xml will load in either Camino or Firefox on the Mac though.
It's not very accurate in In The Groove 1 and 2. Players have reported that it overestimates calories by 2x in many cases. We'll try to improve this in future releases.
StepMania (http://www.stepmania.com) is an open source game engine and game. Roxor employs some of the StepMania creators and the majority of improvements to StepMania today are developed by Roxor employees for use in In The Groove. Roxor donates much of their work back to the StepMania engine as a way of saying "thanks".
As a product, In The Groove offers many features beyond the StepMania game. ITG offers high-quality legal licensed music, professionally created steps and graphics, and comes in a variety of versions on a variety of platforms (arcade conversion kit, arcade dedicated cabinet, Playstation 2, PC/Mac).
