Sometimes when you hit the Start button on the title screen (where it says "PRESS START"), the game doesn't respond

This problem happens if:

the machine is set to Free Play
you join one side of the machine but then select "2 Players" on the Select Style screen

Even though the game is set to Free Play, the game mistakenly will subtract one credit for the side that didn't yet press Start. If you had 0 credits in the machine before you started this game, the credit count will now be -1.

Workarounds:

Join both sides of the machine by pressing Start you select "2 Players".
Turn on Joint Premium when in Free Play. This causes the coin subtraction for the unjoined player to not happen.

The points value of Way Off and Miss are both 0 instead of negative values as they were in ITG1

Identical performances will receive a higher percent score compared to ITG 1 if you received any Way Off or Miss judgments. The underlying judgments are counted correctly, but the percent score is totalled incorrectly.

When comparing scores between ITG1 and ITG2, you should use the raw number of judgments. The judgment totals are displayed both on the evaluation screen and in the USB memory card Stats.xml file. Using the judgemnt totals, you can make make fair comparisons between ITG versions. We will be using judgement counts in the upcoming Internet Ranking web site to ensure that scores are compared fairly.

This problem only affects only the first batch of In The Groove 2 dedicated cabinets. If your machine has this bug and you'd like updated software to fix this problem, you'll need to order a new hard drive from Roxor.
